Join our team of skilled craftspeople creating custom furniture and upholstery in Brooklyn.
We're seeking a full time Junior Design & Client Services Specialist to join our team. This role guides clients through our product offering, helping them feel confident designing custom pieces with Stitchroom. You will communicate directly with clients and vendors via phone and email, understand what each client is trying to achieve, and help them get there through our product offering and your design expertise. You will also collaborate with our production team to work through production questions and make sure each item is exactly what the client is looking for.
Schedule:
Stitchroom follows a 4 day work week (Mon-Thurs).
Start date and compensation:
The position will start August 2026 and the salary range is $60,000-$65,000 yearly, with benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Quoting projects
- Problem solving and collaboration to solve design challenges
- Timely and professional communication with clients and vendors via phone and email
- On site visits for templating or measuring
- Assisting and coordinating with installations
Requirements:
- Outstanding customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Stellar sales skills (for example, the ability to guide a client to close and assess follow up cadence based on client's needs and timeline).
- Attention to detail, and an action-oriented attitude
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Interior design interest/experience and knowledge (for example, the ability to interpret designer requests and recognize standard design terms)
- Creative problem solving skills, confidence in decision making and a positive attitude
- Time management skills
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and pride for their work.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Desire to learn and improve daily
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to have skills:
- Experience / knowledge in CAD/SketchUp/Adobe Suite
- Knowledge of upholstery materials and production processes preferred.
- Proficient in Google Suite and ability to adapt to different project management software
- Sewing experience with upholstery grade fabrics industrial sewing machines
- Experience with excel or google sheets
- A background in upholstery products or manufacturing

We're seeking an experienced installer to join our team, handling both upholstery and drapery installations on-site. This role combines field work with workshop support, offering a dynamic mix of installation, general upholstery tasks, and workroom assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site upholstery and drapery installations at client locations
- Assist with general upholstery tasks in the workshop when not on installations
- Support packing and preparation work in the workroom
- Maintain professional communication with clients during installations
- Ensure quality standards and attention to detail in all work
Requirements:
- Basic upholstery experience required
- Willingness to learn drapery installation techniques (training provided)
- Flexible, can-do attitude and adaptability to varying work demands
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation for installations (not required but a plus)
